Privacy Policy

The short version

• There is no Salvo account, and Awesomely Done, LLC does not collect your personal data.
• Your settings, stats, medals and rank are stored on your device.
• Online play, leaderboards and achievements use Apple's Game Center and SharePlay, under Apple's privacy policy.
• The microphone is used only when you switch on listening in a Same Room game.

What stays on your device

The app saves your preferences (rules, sound, voice and board settings, the captain name you choose, and your chosen opponent) and your career record (games played, wins, accuracy, experience, medals and Daily Hunt results) in the app's local storage on your device. This data is not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.

What Apple's services handle

If you sign in to Game Center, the app uses it to find opponents, run live and turn-based matches, and post your leaderboard scores and achievements. Game Center shares your Game Center player identity and the game moves with the players you play. For turn-based matches, the match data Game Center stores includes both fleets' positions so the game can continue between turns.

SharePlay sends game moves between the people on your FaceTime call. Emotes you send in live games are shown and read aloud on your opponent's device.

Apple processes this data to provide those services. Awesomely Done, LLC does not receive a copy. See Apple's privacy policy and the Game Center settings on your device for how Apple handles it.

Microphone and speech recognition

In Same Room games, the app can listen for your opponent calling a square, like “E6”, and for their answer, like “Hit!”. iOS asks your permission before the microphone or speech recognition is used, and you can switch listening off at any time with the microphone button.

Speech recognition runs on your device where your device supports it. Where it doesn't, iOS may send audio to Apple to recognize it, under Apple's privacy policy. The app does not record or keep audio.

The 3D boards read your device's motion sensors to tilt the view. That data is used on the device and not stored or sent anywhere.

What we don't do

• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No analytics or crash-reporting services from third parties.
• No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
• No selling or sharing of personal information.

Children

Salvo does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Game Center features follow the parental controls and Screen Time settings on the device.

Your choices

• Play against the computer or the Daily Hunt without signing in to Game Center.
• Turn microphone and speech recognition access on or off in the Settings app under Privacy & Security.
• Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your device.
